About Prashant Ponda

Dr. Prashant Ponda received his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, Dr. Ponda went on to complete a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Ponda is board certified in Allergy/Immunology and participates in the maintenance of certification program. He has been promoted to a Fellow of both the American Academy and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr. Ponda is the recipient of many distinctive awards and honors, including membership in the Leo M. Davidoff Society for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students. He has authored a number of papers in prestigious publications including: Nature Reviews Immunology, Nature Encyclopedia of Life Sciences, Journal of Autoimmunity, and Current Molecular Medicine. Dr. Ponda has been a principal investigator or investigator for over 30 clinical research studies. He also peer-reviews manuscripts submitted for publication to The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI), the top-ranked allergy journal in the world, and its sister publication JACI: In Practice. He has reviewed over 200 manuscripts. Dr. Ponda sees both pediatric and adult patients in our New Windsor location for evaluation and treatment of all allergic conditions. Dr. Ponda has been named a Favorite Doc by Hudson Valley Parent Magazine and a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly. He is also a member of the New York State Trooper Police Surgeons Group. Dr. Ponda lives in New York City and trains at Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts where he holds the rank of second degree MMA black belt.
