About Prashanth Jayaprakash

The phrase "You shall not pass"- Gandalf the Grey in JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings or the lesser known original " They shall not pass"- General Robert Nivelle, has been the focus of my life in the IAF. Be it the adversary or a committed timeline, neither have got past me till date. I was privileged to be selected by the IAF for commissioning as an Officer in my third year of engineering. I was amongst a select few, who were paid a monthly stipend to attend fourth year of college. The stipend gave me 'swag' when the word was yet to be invented. From an eager 22 year old rookie to a seasoned veteran of 23 years, my journey in the Indian Air Force has been one that has taught me to love fiercely, work dedicatedly and party wholeheartedly. In my current role as Chief of Aviation (Engineering) I facilitate strategic airlift operations, Flight safety, SCM and Engineering QA of aviation platforms. My previous assignment as the Director of Strategy & Technical Program Management focused on designing and optimizing training programs, implementing robust evaluation methodologies, and enabling the active frontline deployment of over 1,500 personnel annually on cutting-edge defense technologies. As Joint Director and Program Manager (Weapon Systems), I have facilitated Weapons system development, deployment and war-time utilization as well as Life Cycle Management, while leading cross-functional and multi-organizational teams in successful programs with budget exceeding Rs 19,900 Cr. I continuously enable seamless collaboration, results-driven training frameworks, and mission-critical program execution, aligning with the Indian Air Force’s strategic goals.
