Background

About Prathamesh Deshpande

I am a computational materials scientist with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and over 10 years of research experience at the intersection of materials modeling, simulation, and data-driven design. My expertise spans molecular dynamics (MD), finite element analysis (FEA), density functional theory (DFT), and high-performance computing (HPC), which I’ve applied across problems in polymer nanocomposites, interface engineering, and energy-relevant materials. At Michigan Tech and San Jose State University, I developed multi-scale simulation frameworks that accurately predict thermo-mechanical behavior and interfacial properties in advanced composites. My work has contributed to projects funded by NASA, NSF, and the Department of Energy, resulting in over a dozen peer-reviewed publications. Recently, I’ve expanded my interests to include machine learning in materials science, with projects focused on failure prediction and interfacial property optimization.I’m currently seeking full-time opportunities where I can contribute to computational materials R&D, simulation-driven innovation, or interdisciplinary teams in applied physics, energy, or semiconductor sectors. If you're looking for a driven and collaborative scientist to accelerate simulation capabilities and research outcomes, I’d be glad to connect.
