As a senior attorney at Lexipol, I use my specialized background and experience in federal trial practice and civil defense to develop legally viable, defensible, and national best practice policies for public safety agencies across the nation. With over 16 years of legal experience, I have a deep understanding of the complex and dynamic issues of civil rights, 42 USC § 1983, employment, criminal, and public safety law that affect law enforcement departments, correctional facilities, fire departments, and local government. I leverage my practical and first-hand knowledge of the daily legal and safety challenges facing public safety agencies and the communities they serve in both large cities and smaller populated municipalities and counties. I analyze legislative and judicial developments in all 50 states, while also applying comity and federalism principles, to create and update content that reflects the current and emerging trends and standards in the field. I am passionate about empowering public safety professionals and leaders with the tools and resources they need to protect and serve the public effectively and safely.
