About Pratibha Sharma

I am a PhD Research Scholar in Organic Chemistry at Panjab University, working in the area of methodology-driven sustainable organic synthesis with a focus on α-functionalization of carbonyl compounds and strategic functional group transformations. My research emphasizes the design of efficient, selective, and environmentally responsible synthetic methodologies with potential applications in pharmaceutical and advanced chemical synthesis.My current work involves developing new reaction pathways for the functionalization of α-hydroxy carbonyl scaffolds, including bond activation strategies and value-added molecular diversification. Through this research, I aim to contribute to greener reaction design while addressing existing limitations in substrate scope, reaction conditions, and functional group compatibility.Beyond academic research, I am actively interested in translational chemistry, bridging academic innovation with industrial relevance and scalable applications. I am open to collaborations in synthetic methodology, green chemistry, reaction development, and interdisciplinary chemical research.In parallel, I have contributed to scientific education and digital learning as a freelance academic content creator with platforms such as Doubtnut, Numerade, and Physicswallah, supporting STEM learning through structured problem solving and conceptual teaching.I welcome connections with researchers, industry professionals, and collaborators working at the interface of synthetic chemistry, sustainability, and applied innovation.
