About Pratik Karna

As a Graduate Research Assistant at Lamar University, I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge in reliability, quality control, and machine learning to solve real-world problems. I have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, where I learned the fundamentals of capacity analysis, root cause analysis, and problem solving. In my current research, I focus on failure distribution and analysis using probabilistic and statistical approaches, anomaly detection and prognostic health management of LNG compressors. I use data-driven models based on machine learning and deep learning techniques, as well as statistical process control for residual analysis. I have also gained valuable experience working as a maintenance engineer and service coordinator at Kobelco Construction Equipment in Nepal, where I handled service administration, customer satisfaction, and spare parts management. In addition I have worked in a production plant, applied my knowledge of maintenance engineering, reliability assessment, process improvement, supply chain and quality control. My goal is to leverage my expertise and experience to contribute to the field of industrial and system engineering and enhance the efficiency and reliability of complex systems.
