About Prativa Joshi

Prativa Joshi is a Capacity Development Specialist and Program/Process Manager working on various projects led by international organizations collaborating with government bodies. She has dedicated the last 30 years to the TVET sector with international capacity development initiatives for trainers in Bhutan, Albania, Kosovo, and Bangladesh. Prativa has expertise in process management which is execution of any activity by developing process guide. Key Achievement: Deputy Team Leader, NVQS Project (SDC-Funded): Prativa played a pivotal role in developing Nepal's National Vocational Qualifications Framework and supported the establishment of a national vocational qualifications system. She was instrumental in reintroducing and managing the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) system by integrating a competency-based assessment approach at NSTB/CTEVT. Her contributions significantly enhanced the quality of skill tests and helped align Nepal’s vocational qualification system with international standards. Institutional and Capacity Development Specialist & Gender Expert: Prativa successfully coordinated and managed capacity development programs for Nepal Government officials, focusing on GRB and Aid Effectiveness collaborating with UN Women and UNDP, strengthened gender responsive budget making by the Ministry of Finance. Grant Assessment Committee Member, Himali Project (ADB-funded): Prativa evaluated over 700 business plans as the social inclusion and safeguard expert to ensure equitable project outcome. Training Specialist, CLDP Project (ADB-funded): Prativa significantly improved the training systems within Nepal’s Department of Livestock, enhancing trainer capacity, developing training infrastructure, and creating comprehensive training manuals. She introduced an innovative field-based training model in 22 districts which strengthened the practical competencies of livestock extension officials. Program Coordinator & Master Trainer: With 12 years of experience at the TITI, Prativa demonstrated expertise in pedagogical practices, excelling in the design, development, delivery, evaluation, and management of training programs. Researcher: Prativa has conducted research in the field of school education, with several studies published by the Department of Education. She has authored numerous training-related resources, including training manuals, curricula, skill cards, visual aids, and training programs. Her M.Phil. thesis, titled “Out of School Children,” reflects her commitment to addressing educational gaps and promoting inclusive learning environments.
