About Preetinder Singh

I am Committee Chair, Treasurer, and Accounting and Taxation Professional with extensive Board level experience and particular expertise in the Government, Consultancy and Not-for-Profit sectors. In an executive capacity, I am currently a Principal Finance Officer at the NSW Department of Education. Here I am contributing to enhanced reporting and streamlining processes to reduce the burden of administration work in schools. Previously, I was an Advisor to the Australian Taxation Office and Australian Government Department of Education and Training, where I reviewed the Audited Financial Statements of more than 150 non-Government schools concerning ACNC & Australian Education Act 2013. Earlier, as the Senior Manager, Tax & Business Services at Deloitte Australia, I managed a portfolio of over 60 clients generating fees of more than $1M per year and led a firmwide cloud accounting initiative in PNG for Deloitte PNG. At board level what I do is drive financial performance for business growth. I do that by leveraging my knowledge in corporate finance, taxation, reporting, analysis and interpretation of financial and non-financial information, business processes improvement, stakeholders’ relations and team leadership. Board level highlights include my role as Chairman of the International Governance Committee at the Punjabi Chamber of Commerce; Financial Management Committee Member and Treasurer of the Punjabi School at the Sikh Society of South Australia. Finally, I hold a Bachelor of Commerce, International Tax, a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ and ICAI), a Certified Tax Advisor and have a Certificate of Governance in NFP from the Governance Institute of Australia.
