Currently studying International Relations and Economics in a joint program with the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, VA, USA) and the University of St. Andrews (St. Andrews, Scotland, UK). The program involves spending two years at each University and the degree is awarded by both universities (one diploma, two schools). DC-Maryland native with interests in international relations, economics, and healthcare. Past experience working as business director for Silver Chips Print (501(c)(3) nonprofit). When I took over as director the paper was overspending by per year and set to run out of money within the upcoming 9-months. During my time as director, I doubled the number of subscribers, introduced a successful donation tier system which raised thousands of dollars, cut printing costs, and led a team which achieved over in revenue in under three months. Additionally, I personally sold over worth of advertisements in those same three months. Working in this position taught me about the importance of encouraging one's team, and building long-term relationships with customers. Currently seeking opportunities in business or healthcare. Exploring potential careers in health economics, business consulting, and practicing medicine. My skills include building connections with customers, team leadership, and research. In my experiences working at Silver Chips Print and the Farm at Our House, I was actively engaging with customers on a constant basis. Whether selling newspaper advertisements or helping sell fresh produce, relationship skills and building trust with the customer is essential. My team leadership skills were developed through working for Silver Chips Print, where I learned how to encourage and energize a workforce. Through my research projects for DECA, I developed research skills. While competing, my research partner and I wrote a 20-page Finance Operations Research analysis for a local credit union, which won 1st Prize in the Maryland State Competition. Through this I developed analytical skills which have been expanded through further research projects at University, such as my recent analysis of the ongoing Cholera Epidemic in Yemen.
