About Pretam Kumar Das

I am working as an associate professor at the department of physics, Pabna University of Science and Technology, Pabna, Bangladesh. Currently, I've been working as a visiting scholar and Senior Instructor at Department of Physics and Chemistry, Eastern Mediterranean University, Turkey Republic of Northern Cyprus and also as a collaboration researcher with the department of Physics, Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana, USA since July, 2022. In April 2022, I went to the USA as a research collaborator at the department of physics and astronomy, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. And in August, 2022 I've been selected as a lecturer in Physics by the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, USA. I’ve completed my B.Sc.(Honours) and M.Sc.(thesis group) in Physics from the department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. I’ve completed my M.Sc. thesis in theoretical astrophysics under the supervision of the famous teacher and researcher of Bangladesh Professor Emeritus Dr. Arun Kumar Basak. worked in experimental nuclear Physics & Astro-Nuclear Physics for three years from 2014 to 2017. The thermal neutron capture reaction on enriched gadolinium targets (155Gd, 157Gd isotopes) has been studied using Accurate Neutron-Nucleus Reaction Instruments (ANNRI) Germanium Spectrometer at Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (JPARC), Japan. Our group has developed a ANNRI-Gd model I attended the NuSTEC neutrino-nucleus interaction school 2015, Okayama University, Japan. I’ve been arranging a series of international physics webinars since June 2020. I've already arranged more than 276th international physics webinars with famous physicists including four Nobel laureates in Physics (Dr. David J. Wineland, Dr. Williams D. Phillips, Dr. Donna Strickland and ) from all over the world for our students to encourage and motivate them in this corona pandemic situation. I’m always want to involve myself in developing the research and education. I've been working as a collaborative researcher with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), Bangladesh, Astro-particle Lab, Okayama University, Japan, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh, University of New Mexico, USA, Indiana University Bloomington, USA and Eastern Mediterranean University, Northern Cyprus.
