Background
About Priscilla Allen
For the past 20 years, I've been at LSU in the School of Social Work. Currently, I hold the Sister Michael Sibille Professorship of Aging and Geriatrics (LNHA). I concurrently serve as the Associate Director of the LSU Life Course and Aging Center - an interdisciplinary, or transdisciplinary Center of Research Excellence exploring healthy aging and productivity across the life span. My research interests are in the area of long term care quality, improving psychosocial services in the nursing home setting, and organizational behavior/culture change. I travel regularly to Suva, Fiji working with Fiji National University National Training Productivity Centre and have consulted with the Asian Productivity Organization since 2007. Mostly I juggle life and enjoy the process of writing and practice. I am deeply committed to my field of promoting social justice for persons who have been oppressed as a result of systemic, often unexamined institutional forces. And I love my students - past and present. Let's Celebrate age!
