About Pritha Arya

I am currently in my final year of MSc in Clinical Psychology at Christ University, Bengaluru. I have obtained my BSc Hons in Psychology from Lancaster University, UK. There, I had taken up the role of a research assistant at the Department of Psychology. Responsibilities included data coding, literature search, systematic review, and abstract screening. Research topic included borderline personality disorder and narrative identity, shifting to vegan diet and its influence on social life, and the effects of preschool vocabulary on early reading skills. As part of clinical experience, I have interned at various hospitals and mental health institutions. I had the opportunity to observe patients in the Psychiatry outpatient department and inpatient department, establish rapport with them, take case history and MSE, and was encouraged to formulate the psychological diagnosis and treatment plan according to the case history, mental status examination, and symptomatology of the patients. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to conduct various psychometric tests (intelligence, personality, clinical). I am also a certified Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner and have done my training with Vitality Living College. This has given me a first-hand experience of dealing with clients in a therapeutic setting. I believe this is a great starting point in my journey of becoming a clinical psychologist and would be a great addition to my skillset as a clinical psychologist.
