About Priya Tomar

During my doctoral study, I have had the opportunity to work in different aspects of protein- protein interactions at structural and cellular level and their regulatory mechanisms. My research was focused on proteins important for pathogenesis in E. histolytica and their structural & functional characterization. My research training so far has integrated multidisciplinary targets and methodologies including X-ray crystallography, molecular biology, protein expression and purification, cell biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry and computational biology. I have expertise in cloning, protein expression and purification, crystallization, structural analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy, chromatography, BLI, western blotting, cell culture maintenance, confocal microscopy, live cell imaging and animal handling. In addition, I did two months research training in Dr. BR Ambedkar Center for Research, New Delhi, India, where I worked on “Synthesis of aryl piperazine derivatives as putative anti- convulsant drugs”. Here, I gained expertise in synthesis of organic compounds and NMR spectroscopy.
