Background

About Priyanka Ginwal

As a mixed-methods health communication researcher and PhD student at UA, I examine the intersection of social media, public discourse, and public health. My research focuses on HPV vaccine and cervical cancer discussions on social media platforms, aiming to understand how online narratives shape perceptions and decision-making regarding vaccination and cancer prevention. With my research, I aim to contribute to improving health messaging strategies and offering health policy recommendations. In addition to my research, I manage the Data Analytics Lab at C & IS, UA, where I train students and assist faculty in data collection and analysis. Additionally, as a College Ambassador working with the Office of Research, I promote research and grant events, fostering collaboration among students and faculty. Within this role, I help create a supportive academic environment that encourages collaboration across departments. Beyond academia, I am an avid advocate for health promotion, passionate about translating research into actionable strategies that empower individuals and communities to make informed health decisions.
