About Priyanka Sett

As a Ph.D. holder in Experimental High Energy Physics with hands-on experience from PHENIX (BNL) and ALICE (CERN), I've cultivated a deep analytical mindset and a passion for deciphering complex data. My journey from particle physics to data science is driven by a desire to apply rigorous scientific methodologies to real-world challenges. During my tenure as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Bombay, I delved into large-scale data analysis, honing skills that seamlessly translate to data science. Recognizing the transformative power of data, I've embarked on projects that bridge my physics expertise with modern analytical tools. Developed a movie recommendation system using collaborative filtering and content-based techniques to personalize user suggestions. Built an X-ray image classifier leveraging deep learning (CNNs) to detect pneumonia with high accuracy. Applied statistical and machine learning methods to classify hadron vs. gamma events in high-energy physics, bridging scientific analysis with modern data tools. These projects, among others, are available on my GitHub: github.com/PriyankaSett. I'm eager to collaborate on data-driven initiatives that benefit from a unique blend of scientific rigor and analytical prowess.
