About Priyanshu Agarwal
I am a robotics and haptics researcher creating the future of virtual and augmented reality at Facebook Reality Labs! During my PhD, I developed NSF and NASA funded first wearable robotic/haptic device with series elastic actuation for hands (patented) capable of rendering accurate torque at individual finger joints. My research specifically focused on- Design and prototyping of an 8 DoF wearable robot for hands with miniature series elastic actuators - Development of advanced controllers for the device that learn a model of the coupled hand-robot system to provide user-specific assistance - Framework for motor skill learning using this device for faster training - Framework for designing wearable robots using musculoskeletal analysis During my master’s, I worked on the DARPA funded Mind’s Eye Program where I developed dynamics-based biomechanical and statistical motion models to estimate human pose in monocular videos. My research has won 3 best paper awards at international conferences and an outstanding researcher award.
