About Projesh Kumar Roy

I am an experienced computational chemist, with expertise in the area of polymers, glasses, and proteins. I am also interested in object-oriented computer programming and machine learning, with good experience in C++, CUDA-C++, Matlab, and Python. I am passionate about my work, adaptive, and love to be a part of a hardworking team. Although my background is in Chemistry, I have worked on various interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with experimental chemists and biologists. I am a self-taught programmer and have developed several code bases for computational chemistry research. I have published in reputed journals and my post-doctoral proposals have been selected for the SERB-NPDF fellowship and DBT-RA fellowship. During my student years, I worked as an intern at the IIT Kanpur (2012) on a computational project sponsored by Boeing Inc. In 2019, I worked at IISc Bangalore on a computational project sponsored by SHELL Inc. I worked at the Indian Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, as a post-doctoral fellow from 2020 to 2022. I have worked as a SERB-NPDF fellow working in Computational Bio-Physics at IIT Madras. I am currently employed at NIT-Trichy as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. I am looking for interested students with a background in Physics/Chemistry/Chem-Informatics/Bio-Informatics to work in my lab and passionate scientists from any field to collaborate with me.
