About Puad Ibrahim

Puad Ibrahim is a senior journalist with Berita Harian (BH), the only Malay language newspaper in Singapore. BH is owned by Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH). He has 20 years of experience in journalism and currently the newspaper’s Digital Editor. He is presently responsible for the management of all its digital platforms – website, mobile and social media.Mr Ibrahim joined BH as a reporter in 1997. Over 9 years as a reporter and correspondent, he has covered a wide-range of topics – from crime, court and business to politics and community. In 2006, he became the Assistant Editor before subsequently took up the position of the Deputy News Editor in 2008. As a supervisor, Mr Ibrahim was given the task and responsibility to lead and coordinate the news operation – from news planning and deployment of reporters to ensuring the newspaper’s news content is relevant to readers. After seven years as a supervisor, he was given the responsibility to conceptualize and launch BH’s digital platforms in early 2013. He is among the senior editors in BH and often chosen to accompany and cover government leaders’ overseas visits in South-east Asia and the Middle East. Prior to joining journalism, Mr Ibrahim spent 6 years in the reinsurance industry as a broker and an underwriter with Willis Faber and Singapore Reinsurance, and spent a year as a sales consultant with a management consulting company, Dale Carnegie & Associates. He has co-authored two coffee-table books – Heart of a Nation and The Heart of Geylang Serai. Mr Ibrahim was a member of the Community and Parents in Support of Schools Advisory Council (COMPASS) under the Ministry of Education from 2011 to 2015, and a member of the Feedback Supervisory Panel under the then Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports from 20015 to 2006.Mr Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from S.P. Jain School of Global Management.
