Background

About Pushpita Eshika

I completed my Ph.D. in Heritage Studies from Arkansas State University in 2023. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s in architecture from Bangladesh and a Master’s in heritage studies, with seven years of teaching experience at universities in Bangladesh from 2010 to 2017. I trained myself to be an architectural historian and a heritage analyst. As an architect, I learned to look at everything from multiple perspectives, which broadened my aperture toward this world. My architectural experience strengthened my knowledge of culture, environment, ecology, history, philosophy, building materials, and structures. At the same time, my education in heritage studies has guided me to relate humans to architecture, the reasons for evolution, and to understand the embedded relationship between man and his built environment. Professionally I am suitable for many positions. Yet I am looking for a place where I can study man and his environment and also have the opportunity to practice architectural work organically and sustainably. My research interest includes Building morphology, Critical heritage studies, History, theory and criticism, and ethnographic field survey with an inclination toward sustainability. I am passionate about teaching as much as I am passionate about my research works.
