About Qi Wan

As a Software Engineer at BetterCloud, I lead the design and development of critical microservices in a high-throughput, event-driven system. I leverage my Master's degree in Computer Science and my strong skills in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Bigtable, and Elasticsearch to process billions of daily events from SaaS providers such as Slack, Google, and Dropbox. I create REST APIs that serve thousands of global companies, streamlining employee onboarding and offboarding workflows. Previously, I was a Full Stack Developer at the NYC Department of Sanitation, where I built multiple online web applications using Spring Cloud microservice, Spring Boot, Angular, and MongoDB. I deployed and managed our applications at scale with Kubernetes using Rancher and Docker. I worked with product managers and experienced SDLC in the Agile model. I am passionate about building scalable, reliable, and secure systems that deliver value to users and stakeholders. I am eager to learn new technologies and best practices and to contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture.
