Background

About Quaiser Saquib

I received Ph.D. from the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, India. I am currently working as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Al-Jeraisy Chair for DNA Research in Zoology Department, College of Science, King Saud University. Much of my experience has been doing the molecular toxicity and biophysical interaction of nanoparticles, brominated and organophosphorous flame-retardants, pesticides and anti-cancer drugs. I have ample experience in environmental toxicology, genotoxicity, cell cycle, apoptosis, oxidative stress and mitochondrial toxicity. Using RNA-Seq, we recently build a complete map of nanoparticles induced transcriptome alterations in human cells. We also got success in deciphering the mechanism of nanoparticles induced cell death in plants. I got “Scientist of the Year Award-2016” by National Environmental Science Academy, India and “Young Scientist Award 2008” by Environmental Mutagen Society of India for outstanding contribution in molecular toxicology. Until now, there are 87 international ISI listed publications, 4 books and 6 book chapters to my credentials. I have international collaborations including USA, Austria, China and India. I am also the Principal and Co-Investigator in several projects funded by National Plan for Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. Apart from the research I am also engaged in teaching and training of B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students at KSU.
