About Quentin Ferry

Hi there! I am Quentin, an engineer/scientist with a passion for machine intelligence and its potential to improve healthcare. Originally trained as a biomedical engineer, I have since had the good fortune to work with inspiring people on a wide range of projects spanning the fields of computer vision and genetics (MSc), molecular/synthetic biology, and genome engineering (Ph.D.), as well as neuroscience and artificial intelligence (Postdoc). Altogether, I have 12+ years of research experience applying machine learning techniques to answer fundamental biological questions and develop novel tools to advance medicine (biomarker, diagnostic, etc.). Throughout these years, I have developed a strong and long-lasting desire to understand Intelligence, with the aim of distilling its principles to improve AI capabilities and unlock novel applications. This very ambition has taken me to the Picower Institute of Learning and Memory (MIT), where a few others in the Tonegawa lab and I have been shedding light on the formation, storage, and generalization of knowledge in biological and artificial brains.
