About Quinton Upshur

As an assistant men's basketball coach at Portland State University, I contribute to the development and success of the student-athletes on and off the court. I work with the head coach and the staff to plan and execute practices, games, and strategies, as well as to recruit and retain talented players. I also mentor and guide the student-athletes in their academic and personal growth, ensuring that they meet the NCAA and university standards and expectations. My passion for coaching and education stems from my own academic and athletic journey. I hold a master's degree in athletic administration/sports management from Liberty University, and a bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal justice from Northern Arizona University. I also played basketball at various levels, including at Virginia Military Institute and Kilgore College. I leverage my diverse skills and experiences to empower the student-athletes to achieve their full potential and to pursue their goals and dreams.
