About Rabee Haq

I am a recently graduated physician from the University of Virginia, currently working for Carilion Clinic as a Pediatrics resident. My current focus is to gain pediatric clinical and research experience, with the final goal of becoming an academic pediatrician and undergraduate positive psychology professor. Currently, this involves multiple experiences in both outpatient and inpatient pediatric care and neonatal medical research. Additionally, I’ve recently acquired work with the Pediatric Board Review to help further develop their resident-oriented educational content, with goals to expand for practicing pediatricians. Prior to my clinical education, I served as a research intern in the Emergency Department of UVA Hospital. I also worked for the UVA-Guatemala Initiative, a program that serves to develop healthcare programs and intercultural projects for resource-limited environments. During my undergraduate career, I created my own major in Positive Psychology, Philosophy, & Happiness at the University of Maryland. I further served as a Research Assistant in UMD’s DREAM lab, in Yale’s Clinical Neuroscience lab, and the FDA’s Cellular Biologics lab. Finally, I worked for Khan Academy to create and publish high quality medical content on their website for free global use. I have significant research experience in numerous fields, including neonatal medicine, molecular biology, clinical neuroscience, social/positive psychology, and cardiovascular response protocol. I have successfully collaborated with individuals fulfilling a variety of roles, including professors, physicians, technicians, clinical engineers, hospital administration, IRB faculty, nurses, and more. My medical training has provided me with a strong understanding of clinical medicine and the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize research data. The lifelong dynamic pursuit of learning and teaching in medicine is a hallmark of my past and, hopefully, my future.
