Background

About Rabindra Silwal

I bring over three decades of diverse leadership experience across the aviation, manufacturing, and academic sectors. My career began in the aviation industry, where I served in various strategic and operational roles — from Planning Officer to General Manager — within Nepal’s domestic airline sector. During this time, I gained deep, hands-on experience across all levels of airline operations, with a growing focus on strategic planning and executive decision-making from 2004 onward. Following 15 years in aviation, I transitioned to the manufacturing sector, where I led operations as Head of Department. My key achievements included setting up a full-scale production facility employing over 500 staff, and managing its day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. Currently, I serve as Regional Director, Asia Pacific for DAO Aviation A/S, a European EASA-approved MRO organization based in Denmark. In this role, I lead our operations across Asia, particularly in developing partnerships, expanding market presence, and ensuring client satisfaction within the aviation maintenance sector. In parallel with my professional career, I have remained actively engaged in academia as a adjunct faculty and independent researcher in management studies for the past 25 years. This blend of practical industry insight and academic involvement has helped me build a unique perspective in leadership, organizational behavior, and strategic decision-making. I thrive in dynamic environments, am comfortable managing both small teams and large workforces, and am known for being a clear decision-maker who performs well under pressure.
