About Rachael Dank

I have been an Aggregate Quarry Geologist and Licensed sUAS Drone Pilot in the Aggregate Mining Industry since 2016. I have extensive experience in both Sand & Gravel and Sedimentary Hard Rock mining methods including: drilling/blasting, dry pit excavation, and dragline/cutterhead/clamshell dredging. I have planned, managed, and executed 100+ geologic exploration projects using various methods of data collection including: rotary core drilling, hyper-vibration core drilling, electrical resistivity, and UAV surveying. I have advanced proficiency at 2D and 3D geologic modeling softwares including: ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD and Carlson Mining. I have existing knowledge of the geological formations found within the states of MN, IA, NE, IL, TX, OK, and parts of AR, FL, & NM. I am a skilled sUAS Pilot with advanced skills in photogrammetry and surveying. I have built two successful Drone UAS Departments which seamlessly incorporate drone technology into the Aggregate Mining process. The integration of this technology in both cases provided increased productivity and mine efficiency. I am currently pursuing a degree in Geospatial Engineering, and will be returning to school in 2025 to pursue my Masters in Mine Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines.
