About Rachael Weeks

Some people are lucky to know what they want to do for their career right from the beginning, and then there are the rest of us. From Ryerson University I learned what it means to think critically about problems and that I was interested in the science of the human body. From Humber College I learned that exercise can be transformative and a form of healing. My goal in choosing these programs was to help people make positive choices to better themselves. While I enjoyed being a personal trainer and watching my clients reach their goals, I knew I was not challenging myself professionally. I went back to the industry that funded my schooling – catering. I love catering operations for its fast pace and how it constantly throws new problems at you every day. I added a purchasing and inventory role where I could really own a process from beginning to end and see tangible results from my hard work. It became my favourite part of the job. It all made sense! And then the pandemic hit and the company went under. I chose to see this bend in the road as an opportunity to use my experience in purchasing and inventory to pursue a career in supply chain management. I am so excited to combine my applied skills and passion for overcoming challenges in a dynamic field. Looking back, I see that every step in my journey has helped me grow and has served a purpose – to get me headed in the right direction.
