Thanks for visiting my profile. I am an experienced clinician, senior manager and leader who is passionate about improving the lives of people with problematic use of alcohol and other drugs. I hold roles that are responsible for ensuring that the clinical care offered to people who use our services is of evidence based high standards. I am a skilled and experienced manager who believes in empowerment in order to create highly functioning teams. I love watching teams grow in confidence and self belief. I am an expert in clinical governance and in ensuring compliance with the legislative requirements of the Medicines Act and the Misuse of Drugs Act and the regulatory requirements of the CQC. I have considerable experience of the Home Office Controlled Drug licencing process including the application for schedule one licences for research. I have wide ranging experience in the NHS, private and third sectors both as a provider and commissioner of community based services. I have overseen programmes of change that have resulted in more effective clinical care of our service users, including significant budgetary responsibility. I am a committed patient advocate, never losing sight that the patient voice is the most important in my work. I am educated to PhD level.
