About Rachel Dolan

In my role as Access Officer and Lecturer at Gurteen College, I combine my passion for education with a commitment to supporting students in their academic and professional development. As an Access Officer, I assist students from diverse backgrounds in navigating their college experience. I help ensure they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed, offering support with admissions, student welfare, and academic challenges to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. As a Lecturer, I teach specialized modules such as Beef Husbandry and Ruminant Nutrition. I develop and deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials to students, equipping them with essential knowledge in livestock management and animal nutrition. Through my teaching, I cover topics like beef cattle breeding, health, and management, alongside the science of ruminant nutrition, focusing on how proper nutrition enhances livestock health and productivity. I assess student progress through exams, assignments, and practical demonstrations, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their academic goals. In addition, I stay updated on the latest developments in the agricultural sector, contributing to research and participating in various college activities to further enrich the learning experience for all students.
