About Rachel Egan

Currently employed as lead tutor for a Software Development Apprenticeship program in Liberties College, Dublin in association with FIT I also coordinate a larger cohort of 48 apprentices, and their teachers, in a similar program in association with FIT. During this 2-year course, the curriculum consists of a range of modules which prepare the candidate for their work placements in companies including LinkedIn, Fenergo, ESB, Central Bank, Microsoft, Accenture, Verizon, to name a few. In December 2019, Liberties College became the first ETB centre to pilot the all-female Software Development Apprenticeship(iFIT). The end results were super. I am delighted to have started another iFIT program in December 2021, with a new group of ladies who hunger for a career in the STEM industry. Subjects covered include SQL, C# and Java programming, HTML and JavaScript, System design and development, Project Management, Business Communication, Networking and Data Security, Industry Certifications, and more. I am highly motivated to create inclusive learning environments. In my spare time I bury myself in my handknitting and crocheting. working with Eirlooms, I have designed many peices over my 38 year commitment to improving my talent
