Background
About Rachel Hellums
A secret about me? I have superpowers. I am super-curious. I do this thing where I hyper-fixate on projects and I don’t stop until I’m satisfied with the outcome. I use this superpower to problem-solve and create when optimizing content, copywriting, and building marketing strategies. Something I have developed over time that relates to being super-curious is my super-organizational skills. By thinking in systems and studying productivity and time management, I streamline many of the things that most people struggle with. Knowing how to balance efficiency and creativity is important to me. I am super-interpersonal. I meet people where they are at. In both my professional career and personal life, I have had experiences where I didn’t fit in. I strive to make sure I treat people in such a way that they remember how I made them feel accepted. In my professional life, this has translated into some amazing opportunities and collaborations because I value every connection I make. Some insights I have developed since I started working are how important it is to be kind, be teachable, and write EVERYTHING down. I define kindness as treating others with dignity, even if you disagree with them. Putting in the effort to make sure the people you come in contact with are a little better after seeing you than before. I know it isn’t my responsibility to make everyone feel better, and I have strict rules for myself about not taking on other people’s energy, but simply treating everyone with dignity and kindness goes a long way. Being teachable has gotten me more places than being an expert has. By having the attitude of someone who is teachable, you bypass many walls that most people have. When you approach life from a standpoint of curiosity, so many more doors open that gives you the foundation to be the expert that you aim to be. Write. Everything. Down. Don’t think you’re going to remember it. You won’t. Writing solidifies things in our minds that are important. Journaling, logging, listing. If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be to write everything down. Wanna connect? DM me!
