About Rachel Marcus

I am a recent BAH graduate from the University of Guelph. My academic journey has been marked by a profound exploration of diverse and crucial topics in public policy and criminology, including policing, Indigenous policies, MMIWG, femicide, gun violence, deviant behavior, victimology, and corrections. My proficiency with IBM SPSS Statistics software allows me to critically complete and interpret quantitative data analysis, including conducting sophisticated procedures like cross-tabulation, bivariate statistics, and descriptive ratio statistics. I've successfully applied these techniques in research projects exploring key public policy and criminology topics, such as policing strategies and crime pattern analysis. I am especially intrigued by the emerging role of artificial intelligence in the legal and public sectors, an area I am eager to explore further. I am currently enrolled in two online certificate courses to expand this knowledge acquisition: AI & Law with Lund University and CS50 Computer Science for Lawyers with Harvard University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. My work experience has enabled me to develop robust skills in crisis management and behavioural support. Working closely with individuals facing diverse challenges, I have been able to apply my academic learnings in real-world settings, reinforcing my commitment to social justice and policy reform. As a proactive leader in student organizations, I've worked collaboratively to enhance the university experience, reflecting my ability to lead and innovate in multidisciplinary teams.
