About Rachel Patrick

Throughout the course of my professional career as a violinist, I have experienced some truly memorable moments. For example, during my time in Germany, I performed as the violin soloist for Tan Dun's live movie soundtrack concert of Hero. I also served as the Concertmaster for Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein Orchestra for 4 years. I even played the O2 Arena (now Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin) with Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang for a crowd of simulcast to 2M people. Over the past 6 years, I have had the pleasure of owning my own violin studio. Aside from the music achievements of my students (which have been a joy to watch), I have presided over all aspects of operations. This entails financial administration, marketing, and regulatory compliance. I manage records, file business taxes, and plan community events to expand awareness. As you might imagine, I have had to succeed in an administrative capacity so the music side of my business could effectively grow.From 2014 to 2017, I served as the Executive Director of Valley Vibes El Sistema Orchestras. In this role, I led 7 teachers and 2 support staff in daily operations. I developed budgets, assigned resources, and monitored expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility. I also processed payroll, directed fundraising efforts, and took the lead on creative direction.
