About Rachel Risoldi

I started in the healthcare industry as a nurse's aide in a SNF in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky at only 17 years old. I spent over a year on the floor in "on-the-job" training then after graduating high school, began to explore nursing as a C.N.A. in various fields including hospitals, homecare, hospice, pediatric convalescence centers, mental health residential treatment centers, alzheimers' units, rehabs, nursing homes and assisted living facilities; while intermittently working in restaurants and managing a fitness center. I moved to Florida in 1996 and transferred my Nursing assistant certification, then returned to college and earned my Associate Degree in Science and obtained licensure as a Registered Nurse in 2004. I was recruited onto the Telemetry Unit at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital prior to my graduation and built my core nursing skills before excelling my critical thinking and assessment skills out in the field for CARES Home Health. I decided to return to Helen Ellis (a.k.a. University Community Health), now known as Adventist Health. I had been promoted to Charge Nurse on both Med/Surgical/Oncology & Orthopedic units, but felt an urge to follow a path to Hospice and after a year I started looking for a more curative approach. I found my true passion in Chemotherapy Oncology at a small private practice with Pasco Hernando Oncology Associates, which then grew into a larger group Cancer Care Centers of Florida. I had been with this practice for 3 years before merging with Florida Cancer Specialists. I have passed the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation test on August 7, 2014 and received my OCN certification. I renewed my OCN in 2018 and have continued to administer chemo/biotherapies in an acute inpatient HCA's hospital as well as providing infusions/transfusions in their affiliated outpatient clinic.
