My ultimate goal is to have my own agency which serves children, youth, and families offering services in mental health, family therapy, individual/group therapy, emergency beds, addiction counseling, and transitional assistance. I chose Psychology as my undergraduate area of studies in order to pursue counseling. After graduating, I decided to focus on Social Work due to its flexibility in application. I personally have a compassion for helping those who are considered vulnerable populations, such as those with mental illness, intellectual impairments, and especially children. I decided when I was young that I wanted to help children, advocate for them, reunite them with healthy family support systems, and most importantly, protect them. The relevant work experience I have is primarily in the mental health field with children and adults. I would like to continue working in this area, but in greater positions than I had been to not only add to a companies' progress, but also to allow me to build experience providing mental health services, develop as a professional counselor, and grow as a Social Worker.
