About Rachel Wright Junio

I am a lifelong learner, passionate about advocating for equity in education for migrant farmworker children and multilingual learners (MLs). After serving for three years as the Migrant Education Program (MEP) Administrator for the Eastern side of North Carolina, I transitioned into a role as a K-5 ELA Consultant where I continued to advocate for my migrant and EL students under the broader umbrella of reading and ELA curriculum. After serving in that role, I transitioned back to working under the umbrella of federal programs, managing a large discretionary grant awarded to the NC Dept of Public Instruction. I continue to serve in the federal programs space as the Director of the Office of Learning Recovery and Acceleration. I serve in a key role where I work to translate research to practice and provide the necessary evidence and support to districts to implement effective programs that move the needle for students.
