Background
About Radi Skipp
EASA and UK CAA-licensed A320 family Captain, TRI, and SFI. I bring with me experience of airports large and small, from short and narrow runways to major airports, EROPS/ETOPS flights, narrow- and wide-body experience, and everything in between. An English and Bulgarian native speaker, I also hold an ICAO Level 6 certificate in Spanish (native equivalent). I seek to operate to a high standard in a friendly and professional manner. I'm currently a Captain at Wizz Air in Milan Malpensa, one of the company's largest bases. The operation is dynamic, challenging, and rewarding, and sees me trained in dangerous goods and low visibility procedures, among other qualifications. In my role as Captain I lead the daily operation to be safe and efficient while caring for passengers and crew. I strive to do this in a friendly and open manner on every flight. I am also an EASA A320 TRI/SFI, providing A320 type rating classroom and simulator training for pilots new to the type. I see a variety of pilots in this role, from cadets to experienced captains changing type, and use my A320 knowledge, greater aviation experience, and language skills to covey the required knowledge effectively in a relaxed and friendly learning environment. I began flying commercially at Thomas Cook Airlines, a company known for their high standards and challenging operation, which provided me with high quality training from the very beginning on both narrow and wide-body Airbus aircraft. Specifically, training included RNP-AR, ETOPS/EROPS, dangerous goods, LVPs, and training as cruise relief pilot. I operated mixed fleet on the A320 and A330 aircraft until the company folded in late 2019. In October 2016 I completed the rigorous, rewarding, and fun, integrated ATPL(A) course at Flight Training Europe in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Flying is a childhood dream, and I am very lucky to have had this opportunity, I enjoyed every minute of it! FTE is renowned for their high standards of training, giving me a solid knowledge base and essential skills I can rely on, and helped support the start of my flying career. Previously an International Baccalaureate student at The Anglo-American School of Sofia, Bulgaria, I graduated there in May 2015. Native English and Bulgarian speaker and fluent in Spanish, I have a love of and interest in theatre, climbing, and languages and linguistics. I treasure my time at AAS as it gave me a wider appreciation of the world far beyond the subjects taught in the classroom, as well as a high work ethic and standard.
