About Rae Guasa

With 13 years of nursing experience, including seven years in Haematology and Oncology, I’ve built my career around supporting patients during some of the most challenging times of their lives. As an Acute Oncology Services (AOS) Clinical Nurse Specialist at The London Clinic, I guide the daily operations of the AO assessment unit and provide care for patients experiencing acute symptoms related to their cancer diagnosis or treatment. My journey in nursing began in Pain and Palliative Care, where I developed a deep understanding of what compassionate, patient-centered care truly means. Over the years, I’ve specialised in areas like Haematology/Stem cell transplants and SACT treatments, combining clinical expertise with a personal commitment to helping patients and their families navigate complex treatments. Some of the roles I’ve been privileged to hold include: • Haematology CNS: Working alongside renowned Haematologists to care for patients with Leukaemia, MDS, and MPNs. • SACT CNS: Leading training programs to ensure the safe administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies, helping colleagues deliver care with confidence and precision. I’m also a non-medical prescriber and currently pursuing an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice—a reflection of my commitment to continual growth and finding new ways to improve care. One of my current projects is creating a digital system for triaging AOS helpline calls to enhance efficiency and align with sustainability goals. At the heart of everything I do is the drive to make a positive impact. Whether it’s mentoring a colleague, easing a patient’s journey, or finding innovative solutions to improve services, I’m passionate about creating meaningful change in cancer care—one step at a time.
