Being 6,4ft (1.93m) and 250 pounds, my whole life people around me have pushed me towards more physical things in life, whether it be football or working in private security. It's always been “If I was your size…” I’m not complaining, I really enjoyed those jobs and the people I met but it took me a long time to really embrace my passion; people. In 2021, I decided I was done working physical jobs, which were admittedly easy for me, and decided I was going to transition to a field that I am passionate about. Barry Plaskow took a leap of faith when he hired me in a customer success/sales position and I remember the interview like it was yesterday. He had gotten back to me to say that he liked my confidence but I was lacking a key item. Experience. I wrote back that other candidates may have years on me, but they won’t outwork me. No one will. In a little over two years I have sold I have brainstormed ideas to streamline the sales process and CRM strategies, then went ahead and worked with the tech team to implement them. Pointed out old and obsolete retention methods, helped conceptualize automations, and put them into action. Sold on the floor at a conference in Orlando etc. In my opinion in order to be a good salesman, you have to really love the game. I have fun at work, I’m cheeky, I level with my prospects, I know when to crack a joke and when to share my condolences. I’m excited for each call and I don’t take anything too seriously.
