Biologist, with extensive experience in analyzing data from Next Generation Sequencing. He coordinates the Bioinformatics core of the Genetic and Forensic Studies Unit at the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC) and has taught Bioinformatics at the Anatomical Institute of the Faculty of Medicine of the UCV, the National Institute of Hygiene “Rafael Rangel” and the IVIC. He has also supervised undergraduate theses in several institutions. He completed a research stay in Next Generation Sequencing data analysis at the Bioinformatics Unit of the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo in Uruguay, sponsored by the United Nations University (UNU-Biolac). He is a co-author of the report on a new Leptospira species for Venezuela and has served on several organizing committees of bioinformatics events in Latin America. He is also a collaborator of the United Nations University Program for Biotechnology in Latin America and the Caribbean.
