About Rafal Hrynyk

Dr Rafal Hrynyk for nearly two decades has tirelessly engaged in promotion of health and safety at work through consulting, education, development of innovative products, development of guidelines and national and international regulations. He is a 3M Europe, Middle East and Africa Standard Development and Regulatory Affairs Specialist focusing on advancing worker safety in the region. He leads interactions with public administration for the region for 3M’s Personal Safety Division, a global leader for worker safety products. He is the chairman of the Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Platform of Employers of Poland, involved in promoting a business approach to OSH investments and related social benefits and public value. He is the author of numerous scientific and professional publications, training materials, reports, patents and utility models. He is the laureate of the numerous awards, including the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Minister of Labour and Social Policy. Founder and Chairman of the Road Safety Team at the Polish Chamber of Road Industry in 2018-2019. Expert of working groups and technical committees on personal protective equipment. Initiator and co-author of the code of safe work at height. Member of the Governing Board of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) and alternate member of the Advisory Committee on Safety and Health at Work (ACSH). Since 2021, he has been a member of the Labour Protection Council in Poland, which is an opinion-forming body and oversees the working conditions and activities of the State Labour Inspectorate. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Lodz University of Technology after doctoral study at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. He is a scholarship holder of the Rector of the Wroclaw University of Technology and the Minister of Science and Higher Education. In 2006-2014, employed as a researcher at the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute, in 2011-2014 the head of R&D in PSA Malachowski (SME).
