About Raffaele Petruzzi

I am the Founder and CEO of PETRUZZI Advisory, an independent boutique firm specializing in transfer pricing advisory. Additionally, I serve as the Managing Director of the WU Transfer Pricing Center at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and as a member of the United Nations Subcommittee on Transfer Pricing. From an advisory perspective, I bring extensive experience gained from almost 20 years of working with Big Four firms, international law firms, and in-house roles. I advise clients across diverse industries on a wide range of international tax and transfer pricing matters, including services, financing, intangibles, business restructurings, permanent establishments, indirect taxes, and digital business transformation. My expertise extends to risk management and compliance; international tax planning and strategy; policy design and implementation; valuation of companies and intangible assets; tax audit defense, mechanisms for dispute avoidance (e.g, rulings and APAs) and resolution (e.g, MAPs and arbitration); training programs for companies, advisors, and tax administrations; advising on tax policy and capacity building for governments in their efforts to combat tax evasion. From an academic perspective, I am a frequent speaker at international conferences, a lecturer of numerous courses worldwide, and the author of multiple publications. My academic work involves close collaboration with professionals in the advisory and business communities, governments, and international organizations such as the OECD, United Nations, World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, and European Commission. I also serve as an editor for the Linde Transfer Pricing International Journal and am an active member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the International Bar Association (IBA), and Transfer Pricing Economists for Development (TPED). I hold a Ph.D. in International Business Taxation and an LL.M. in International Tax Law from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), as well as an M.Sc. in Business Administration and Law from Bocconi University.
