Moving one place to another is more than just a matter of relocation, but it bring you to meet new people, new perspective and new ideas. Having a broad perspective of the world can make you resourceful with experience which I believe is a valuable commodity as a human. Hi, I'm Rafiq. Currently a Corporate Client Executive in a fintech company in Kuala Lumpur. Graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, I further my career pursuing into legal realm by completing my pupillage and called to the Bar as an advocate & solicitor in the High Courts of Malaya. I continued my journey from legal into higher education industry after my admission to the Bar as legal advisor & lecturer in a private college university in Terengganu. Education industry was a total foreign territory for me. As I said earlier, life is a journey and one has to start somewhere. I explored the industry for almost two years mastering the corporate knowledge and at the same time, imparting my legal knowledge to my students. I have been tasked to act as legal advisory to the college and to spearhead the legal department under my wings in which I have overseen all the matters such as drafting contracts, agreements, and opinion letters. Other than that, I also advised the other relevant department on legal aspects such as matters pertaining to employment laws, compliance to Malaysian Qualification Agency audit proceeding and internal disciplinary tribunal. I also acted as college university corporate representative that dealt with numbers of negotiations that involve with both private & government agencies to create business corporation. I have been involved with lots of knowledge & experience handling public relation matters that includes closing great deals that bring best interest to my company side. After two years delving in the industry, I made my move to K. Lumpur, to a fintech company that I am working with currently. Compared to the previous industry, fintech company is totally a rather young industry in Malaysia. In this company I am tasked in maintaining corporate relation between this company with the clients which mostly are banks and financial institution & taking care of its legal matters.
