About Ragavan Nithiyanantham

Ragavan Nithiyanantham, MA, CAHP, is a Professional Archaeologist and Cultural Heritage Specialist. He has nearly 20 years of combined archaeological, cultural heritage, and cultural resource management experience in Ontario. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Buildings Archaeology from the University of York, UK. He has successfully managed and completed numerous single and multi-phased archaeological and cultural heritage assessments in Ontario. He has undertaken projects triggered by the Planning Act (e.g, subdivisions, site plans, re-zoning, official plan amendments, consent), the Environmental Assessment Act (individual and Class Environmental Assessments [EAs], provincial and federal EAs), the Environmental Protection Act (Renewable Energy Approvals O.Reg 359/09), and the Aggregate Resources Act (aggregate pit extensions). Ragavan has extensive experience providing professional and technical consultative advice on archaeological and cultural heritage protection and management within the parameters of the Ontario Heritage Act. Ragavan is a Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) member and a licensed Professional Archaeologist in Ontario.
