About Raghav Malik

I design and own high-reliability engineering systems where complexity is unavoidable and failure has real consequences. My career has focused on cutting-edge, high-complexity domains including satellite electronics, particle accelerator and medical systems, and industrial IoT deployed in harsh operating environments. In these systems, outcomes are governed first by electronics and physics, then by materials behaviour and mechanical integrity, with software and data layered on top. I specialise in system-level integration at the boundaries between electronics, materials science, mechanical design and embedded software, where most failures emerge and long-term reliability is determined. More recently, I led end-to-end IIoT and AI vision system delivery, establishing the full pipeline from data capture and labelling through model training, validation and deployment on real hardware. The challenge was not building models, but making them deployable. AI was treated as part of the system architecture, not the system itself. In my latest role, I carried responsibility for four parallel R&D programs, with two high-impact initiatives delivered through to commercial deployment, balancing technical depth, delivery risk and system behaviour across the full lifecycle. I have delivered projects across Australia, Japan, India and Europe, with on-site execution in Zambia, Finland, Poland, Belgium and Japan, operating across diverse regulatory, cultural and operational contexts. I take responsibility for complexity so systems can remain coherent.
