Pursued PhD in Fibre Science from Department of Textile Technology, IIT Delhi. The research work was focussed on application of Sustainable Technologies for textile industry such as Plasma Technology. Using this technology, variety of functional finishes were developed. The project also aimed to understand the plasma chemistry behind in-situ reactions of the textile substrates with various precursors and finding possible solutions to make plasma technology up-scalable for industrial applications. Presently working as Manager-Research (Fibre and Fabrics Technologies) in the Fibre and Fabric business of Croda. My current role includes New Product development for Fibre and Fabric business where I am actively involved in selection of ingredients and designing research methodology to develop formulations for high performing auxiliaries, sustainable innovation and consumer effects for health and well-being. Highlights: 1. Leading research projects assigned from time to time on textile based formulation to deliver effects related to sustainability, high performance, health and well being. Building hypothesis and demonstrating proof of concept 3. Strive to observe and interpret results 4. Knowledge generation through prior art search 5. Ensuring proper documentation is done related to projects. Ensuring safety standards and norms such as ISO standards in the organization are met alongwith introducing new safety initiatives. Technical skills include: In-depth knowledge of various textile processes including pretreatment, dyeing, printing, finishing and technical textiles. Knowledge in processing of man made fibres which are either melt spun or solution spun. Expert in atmospheric pressure plasma treatment of textiles. Hands-on experience on analytical instruments such as FE-SEM, DSC, TGA, FTIR, Mechanical tester, porometer and UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Knowledge in identification of molecular species through Thin layer Chromatography (TLC) and Gas chromatography-Mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). Also possess skills to predict molecular mass of unknown compounds using ToF-SIMS and GCMS and also can interpretate surface chemical changes on textile substrates after chemical modification using XPS technique. Awarded with Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Contribution in the research area of Plasma Reaction Engineering.
