Are you sure about this, Ragini?" my father asked, eyeing me suspiciously."Hospitality? Can't you opt for better courses like your friends did?" I was born and raised in one of the most enchanted places in India - Arunachal Pradesh. And while it was a beautiful place, it was also a place where Hospitality was considered a taboo subject. But I saw things differently. To me, hospitality was an opportunity to showcase my creativity, love for people, endless opportunities, and travelling. And so, I pursued it with all my heart. I then went on to win 2 awards in university-Outstanding Performance Award in the field of B.A Hospitality Napier, Scotland -Dr. Suburno Bose Award in the field of B.A Hospitality, Scotland 12 years+ of experience in the Hospitality industry and with a track record of exceeding goals YOY contributing to financial success for 6 years+ for Shangri-La Group- I’ve enjoyed being part of the Global Sales team handling various segments - Corporate, Leisure, MICE & Shangri-La’s Luxury Program – The Luxury Circle. And when I am not at work, I enjoy building a community on social networks esp- Instagram and though this channel during the Pandemic I started an initiative ‘Head on Gorgeous’- The goal of this initiative is to build a community of women sharing knowledge, experience, and career path and passing the torch to be fierce in their own right and elevate each other to succeed in the world. I am always on the lookout for creating new benchmarks and I vehemently believe that my expertise in sales and marketing would take me places, the adventure has only just begun!
