About Rai Singh

My name is Rai Singh, and I am a fourth-year student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Butler University. As a result of my perseverance and dedication to my interests, I continuously strive for success. I am majoring in Public Health and continuing to build my comprehension and skills with a minor in Spanish. My work experience as a Prevention Program Intern for the STI Prevention Unit at the Indiana Department of Health has given me the opportunity to become a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS). As a DIS, I have the ability to directly impact communities that suffer from a high prevalence of health inequality. Interning at the Indiana Department of Health applies the skills and themes of public health learned in academics in a real life setting, and it's motivational. A passion for learning and leadership has led me to be a strong leader who recognizes opportunities. I am passionate about working on policy relating to access to care and improving public health. I'll always be on the lookout for new skills and experiences that I can apply to my work and everyday life. Working in a team and learning from other people is something I find enjoyable; we can all learn from others. My experience will greatly allow me to apply the traits I have learned to the work environment. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated leader who holds true to the people around me. I plan to graduate from Butler University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and Spanish. Currently, I am seeking a profession in the public health field to learn more about community health, preventative healthcare, and familiarize myself with the legal structure of the healthcare industry.
