About Raisa Bashar

I am an Admissions Advisor at Oxford International Education Group (career colleges and English schools)- Halifax campus - and am responsible for guiding students to choose a career-focused course in early childhood education and healthcare and assist them with every step of the enrollment process. Previously, I was employed as a Communications Coordinator for a food carrying business - Era Corporation (Dhaka, Bangladesh), coordinating meetings and contracts among internal and external stakeholders (tenants, bank officials, govt. personnel, employees etc.), remotely. Before that, I was an Educational Assistant: Communications and Administration at the Toronto Academy of Education (a Ministry approved Ontario career college, based in Mississauga, Canada). In my role, I was managing their PSW student admissions process and clinical and community placements, creating promotional content for courses. Formerly, I was the Outreach Coordinator and a Senior Lecturer (previously Lecturer) of Environmental Economics at North South University, Bangladesh. My past and present research interests lie in Environmental Education, Ecosystem Services Valuation, Climate Advocacy and Natural Resource Management: I am actively looking for MSc and PhD positions (within Canada only) in these areas. Additionally, between 2020 and 2024, I was overseeing the operational works of two family-run businesses (Era Corporation and GMST - government's food carrying contractors) It is my lifelong dream to pursue successful educational/social businesses, along with an academic career.
