About Rajaiah Pergu
I am in my fifth year of postdoc at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Cambridge, USA, where the main research focus is on developing technologies in the space of genome editing and bifunctional molecules and applying those technologies to beta-cell biology and cancer therapeutics. I received my Ph.D. in Cell biology and biochemistry from the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), India. During my postdoc and graduation studies, I wish to equip myself with scientific, analytical, and technical skills to pursue a career in research in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Immunology. In the future, I wish to utilize the skills acquired during my training to answer outstanding gaps in our understanding of biomedical science. My research interest is understanding the roles of (neo-) PTMs on proteins that occur in the context of diseases and infections.
